About Will Wood
Will Wood And The Tapeworms:
The beginning of Will Woods's music career began in 2015. He along with 4 other members (depicted on the left) started a band by the name of 'Will Wood And The Tapeworms'. Although they are still together and run tours and events, only two albums have been released 'Everything Is A Lot' in 2015 and 'SELF-ISH' in 2016, almost 7 whole years ago! The bands' inspiration widely comes from psychedelic pop, which is often about juxtaposition between cheerful and dark, although always with their own unique twists. The group can be considered to be very flamboyant and breaks many social conformities, like many other underground 'indie' bands.
Solo Career:
After 4 years of indefinite hiatus, only doing the rare tour, Will Wood came back to life with his own full solo album 'The normal Album'. This album immediately became a hit and pushed his solo account monthly listeners on Spotify past the bands, which had been out much longer. This was in part due to the song 'I/me/myself' which has racked up over 42 million plays. Whilst his inspiration primarily comes from psychedelic pop, Will Wood challenges and reinvents himself by using a wide and vast amount of different genres in his work, including rock, jazz, scat and many others. Since then Will Wood has released two other albums 'In case I make It' in 2022 and 'In Case I Die' in 2023.
Personal Life:
Will Wood is a 29 year old male and is considered to be pansexual. Little is directly known about Will Woods's personal life as he often avoids large amounts of social media and especially avoids sharing information about his life away from his work as a musician. What is known however is that the artist has had major struggles with mental health and addiction and was later diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Luckily he has made great strides in his recovery and is now consistently producing music once more. Will Wood has since become an ambassador for Mental Health, often talking about its importance, especially in youth and even donates portions of his income to mental health charities such as the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (BBRF).
